Tugs usually wash out sand by backing in slow and making their own channel, getting close to boat and washing out under it. Amazing what they can do with that big prop and big engine! Have seen it done before,re packery channel and very large cruiser.

Went to check on Grandma this morning & she was gone. She left a nice hole & cut in the sandbar for us. Hope it lasts longer than all the damn weed down here.

I was hoping I'd get a firsthand view of the rescue operations. Sad

Yep that would be cool for us but not too cool for them. Dying to know what happened & how much it cost to get that sucker pulled back out.

Water is getting nice but it is full of weed still. We might be able to keep some shark rods out tomorrow, doesn't look too bad further out. Or we can just drink & have the girls drive us.

Hurry up & get down here. I'm so bored I'm workin.

In the late 70"s we found a shrimper beached at marker 40 north padre
They rented my truck and off loaded shrimp to go back to the jetties at
Mansfield. We didn't hang around to see the rescue of the ship but it wasn't thier next time we came down..

My reward, or payment, four ice chest full of headed jumbos
Result 20 years of suffering from the gout

Stickmoore, are you saying that you got Gout from eating shrimp from the shrimp boat?

I read an article from some newspaper on the internet and now I can't find it again to reference it. Anyway, the article indicated that the shrimp boat "Grandma" had experienced engine problems. Somehow, they managed to lose their anchor too. It is for that reason that they drifted and hit the beach.

Fishing is more fun than sex....... when they're biting......... uh, I mean the fish.
