I couldn't resist the nice weather, so I headed out solo to Shamrock. Got on the water by 6:30 and decided to fish for trout early. Here's how it looked when I arrived.

I must have cought numerous dinks probably 50 throughout the day. I moved around a bit and tried some areas I havn't fished before. I was rewarded with a flounder that hit a pink Brown Lure.

Then I moved around some more and ended up back where I started. A 19 in. trout was cought on a Gulp shad.

After no hits I proceeded to look for a red to get a slam. No reds were found, but I was able to find some more flounder.

The other two flounder were caught on the rootbeer Brown Lures as well. The flounder ranged between 15-18 in. I bought a dozen croaker, but I did't get any fish from those. All were caught on artificails!!!

The days catch

Going solo is nice. It was the first time for me to do that. I thought that Shamrock would be a good place do go first because its easy to launch, beach, and park. I thought that with all those trout hitting the lures, they would for sure hit croaker. Although it may have taken a while, persistance payed off Very Happy

Happy 4th !!!
