Met up w/ Steve at East Shore early this AM, expecting breezy conditions, and were pleasently surprised w/ relatively light wind (by SOTEX standards). Paddled out with high hopes, w/ clean moving water and a good amount of bait on the flats. Fished our way out, w/ not much, a few blowups, dinks and rats...A few hours into it I hear a S$#@!, and assume it was a missed strike or lost fish. Meander over Steve's way and see that he has a perfectly good Spook Jr attached to his thumb, and a nice trout laying in the bottom of his yak. A few minutes later we have him "de-hooked" and we are back on our way. Amazingly had to work towards B&R in windy and off-colored water to find a few fish. All in all we had 4 reds and three trout that we managed to string. Despite the slight glitch, it was nice day on the water. I do need to buy a good pair of diagonal cutters for at-sea surgery...

PT nailed this 27&3/8in on backside of Mustang before dark today.
