| FISHED BHP FRIDAY DURING THE DAY. FISHED OF THE "T" FOR KINGS AND REDS. I AM NOT A SHARK FISHERMAN BUT HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS WHO ARE. ABOUT 11:00 AM, A BOAT CAME OUT OF THE PACKERY CHANNEL JETTIES AND HEADED TOWARD BHP. THE GULF WAS SUPER CALM, YET THIS IDIOT COMES RIGHT BY THE PIER AND PICKS UP A COUPLE OF SHARK FISHERMAN'S LINES. WE YELLED AT HIM AND HE DID COME CLOSE TO THE PIER AND APOLOGIZED. WE THOUGHT THAT WAS IT. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER, ANOTHER BOAT, THIS ONE COMING IN FROM THE GULF, CAME ABOUT 75-100 YARDS FROM THE PIER AND AGAIN THE SHARK FISHERMAN'S REELS STARTED SCREAMING. THIS BOAT PICKED UP 5 LINES AND BUSTED EVERY ONE OF THEM. THIS GUY DIDN'T EVEN STOP. HE JUST LOOKED AT THE PIER AND LAUGHED. COULD THIS HAVE BEEN DONE ON PURPOSE? AFTER ALL THEY HAVE ALL THE GULF TO RUN THEIR BOATS IN , WHY COME SO CLOSE TO THE PIER. I HAVE A FEELING THIS WILL ONLY GET WORST AS BOAT TRAFFIC THRU PACKERY JETTIES INCREASES. |

Take down the registration number on the boat, get the names and phone #s of the witnesses, and use cell phone to call the Coast Guard if boat was outgoing or TPWD if headed in. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

And turn the caps lock off please. I always believe in giving other boaters, waders, surf-fisherman, pier fisherman, jettie fisherman, and bank fisherman the same respect: from the boat or from the bank. If we all acted like it was Christmas year 'round the world would be a better place. SM _________________ That's why they call it fishin' not catchin' |

That is something that will continue to happen over and over now that Packery is open.
If I recall correctly, as long as they stay 50 feet from any fixed structure, then they did nothing wrong. However, it sucks. You would think they would swing out wider. Sorry for those sharkers that got their lines caught. I had been there before. Once with a fishing boat on PINS and once off BHP with a shrimp that picked up my anchor line while I was slide lining. _________________ FISH ON!!,

The only thing you can hope for is maybe they picked the line up with the prop. It will cost him more for a prop and shaft rework than the line he wasted |

| If you reserve one rod with a whole mess of bailing wire under it, they will never come close again! I hate when people do that |

It IS illegal to interfere with legal fishing activities. That's why I advised those affected contact the two law enforcement agencies best equipped to handle the complaint. The chances of catching someone in the act are slim, so the thing has to be reported with as much info and witnesses willing to testify as possible. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

I have lost lines to boats off the south jetty, the wall by the ferry boats and both piers on the channel there.
Twice because a boat was in too close. The other 6 or 7 times have been due to me casting way, way out and the line not sinking fast enough to escape a passing prop.
Lost three good Penn spinning reels this way, as they were useless after those occurences, and several no name brand reels as well. _________________ GOBZA!!!

One can look at these morons boating by another floating vessel and throw dead ducks. For cheap thrills I find it harrassing and wrong.

I have no idea what the spoken Spanish words were but when the offended, pelted guy was about to jump into the water and attempt some two-fisted justice the video ended!

I'd pull out my rod and aim my topwater at his twigs and berries. _________________ "Bring your friends, we'll give em' a ride in SUCK MY WAKE" |

| "How about a fishie," was said in the video. That must have been a two lb Sheepshead thrown up against the noggin! |
