Barnacle Bill....It's been quite some time and "no see." ...Glad to see you posting on this great site!
I've used cut bait, crabs, and just about everything.....I guess God is proving that He does exist and is using me as an example!
(By the way the other day was 6-06-06. Anyone see the Omen movie? I heard and have read it doesn't live up the seventies original.) |
Great advice, folks!
And Jolly Roger, man oh man! ..... I wish I could fish as often as you do! ...Over 400 Reds? ..... I thought Oscar was the drum god!!!! .....
Looks like you don't need the 500 bucks to put me on a red....but I'd sure let you take me out in my coming boat and new truck!
Me and Oscar are good friends and fish together often. We also work together on many kayak releated tournaments and other such stuff. Together me and oscar put together the first public kayak fishing event for bull reds in Texas off the beach at High Island a few years ago. Since then we have worked together on many other projects. We are also on the same fishing team sponsored by Okuma and Cobra kayaks.
Do not want your money, I work all week making money. My fishing time is for fun, nothing more. I put about 100 people a year on there first bull red or shark for free. Usually post where I am fishing and invite everyone that wants to go. Last weekend about 20 people showed up. had three people catch there first shark from a kayak, one guys first was 6' other guys was just unde 5'. Third was a small one but still fun. Between everyone all weekend we landed about 80 sharks and 5 bull reds up to 46".
This saturday we are starting early with wade fishing under the full moon at 3am then going offshore in kayaks during the day. The weather has given us two good weekend in a row, got to take advantage of it when you can. |

| September on PINS during the mullet migration is a sure thing. Thousands of mullet for bait. String them up live, you'll catch alot of skipjack too but the big reds are there, usually in the second gut. Or look for alot of pot holes in the first gut. |

Going through my journal, I've caught over 253 drum since then, and all were those wormy Black Drum.....
Am I doing something wrong? No, I aint giving up the GPS or my drum hole....So don't try, potlicker! ....(Even if I told you, you have five hundred-to-two thousand feet of bulkhead to work, and only one spot next to oyster pods will produce consistently.....) Of course, it could be more bulkhead! |
Are you frickin' kidding me? I catch them and it pisses me off. I have even caught the damn things while using stingray bait. If I am shark fishing, my worse enemy is a damn redfish. I refuse to use mullet from September through March because of those damn thing. Last time I actually fish for them when I fished BHP, I quit counting when I reached 300 in November. I think I caught 10 a night. Its like Kingfish, I will be happy if I never caught an oversized redfish or kingfish again. Everyone else can have my share. _________________ FISH ON!!,
