hey folks its been a while. was down at the floating cabin from 03 -29 thru 04-01. fishing is picking up reds starting to show up in force back in the hole.
me and 4 others went to relax and have a good time. caught and kept 100 keeper trout most at night under the lights. biggest was 24 inches long. got broke off 4 times bottom fishing with live finger mullet at the cabin. we were using the ole trusty glow in the dark speck rigs most of the time under the lights for the trout. some reds were also caught dragging the bottom real slow with the speck rig. weather was good and it was fun. heres a pic. enjoy.

Holy Moly Shocked I hope you guys are ready for a long day of fish cleaning. Congrats! I'm sure a trip like that makes the price of the fishing cabin worth it!

In light of a few events I have decided to put a few new rules in place.

No bashing of businesses as it is never cut and dried and only leads to problems. If you get good service use them if not go somewhere else. I realize you all may have legitimate gripes but I can't be the judge and jury on each single case.

No bashing of legal catches please. If someone wants to eat a 32" trout instead of mounting it or releasing it that is their business. Now if you want to lead by example and keep a few and release the bigger ones please let us know.

No ttt's to the tops on classifieds.

In other countries the rules may be different on fish and game.

thats what we kept. and yes it is all legal. we are not down far enough in the landcut for the newer lower laguna madre rules to affect us. 10 per day, 20 in posession per angler. posession limit is 2 days limit (10x2= 20 per person.) 5 anglers x20=100. this was not a guided trip, just a trip with 4 of my friends that they cant take very often. all fish were kept for eating. NONE WASTED.
and also this doesnt include the numerous amount of fish we returned for future fun.
you can stay up all night and catch fish and before you know it the suns coming up.

Very nice report and catch. You still renting out the cabin or is it all booked up?
