When I got my stuff stolen at the car wash, the cop said they caught some meth addicts breaking into the coin machine. The dumb@$$'s broke in two nights in a row and got caught the third night when the cops were waiting there for them...
If meth is the root cause, then that should be addressed. |

| I hate the way the new homes are built with garages in the front, makes that crap so easy to get at. You should not have to close your garage just to work in the backyard. What is the world coming to. I am glad I have a rear wrap garage there is less opportunity for a "grab and run" |

Big Irv, it's called APATHY ! I agree with Schanz. CC is a tourist town. I think that the prospect of a few big billboards warning tourists of the semi-out of control break in rate in the "Sparkling City By The Sea" just might wake up the higher ups and light a fire under the CCPD's rear end. For them to be telling people that it's "meth heads" or anything else is beside the point. Crime is crime. They are paid to DO SOMETHING about it as are the city bigwigs, not make excuses for it's existence!
Also, everyone should remember that gang member or not, drugs are what fuels the gangs coffers. Even if a certain perp isn't a full fledged "gang banger", the problem is much worse EVERYWHERE than it was before the gang culture invaded our society. It's all interrelated. _________________ Dave

I hate to say it but i have to even though i love my Flour Bluff and raised 2 good kids here. There is alot of methheads in the bluff almost on every street corner its really sad. Why do they come here...is it because of all the free handouts from local churches and Timon's ministries? What draws them here? When we are at work they are cruising the streets looking for an easy opportunity to make a buck no matter who it hurts. If you don't believe me just take some goodwill stuff and drop it off at Timon's Ministries at about 11am and look at the line, oh you can pick out the normal everyday down and out homeless person, but you can also pick out the others. Still its sad that people throw their lives away like that. I've always been a scratcher i'll shovel dodo all day long if thats what it takes to feed my family. If everytime they caught someone stealing and they cut of a finger or two right then and there .... there would'nt be much stealing going on. Just my opinion only, IMS. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

What draws them there is the other meth heads. They congregate where the supply is, hoping for a free handout. It ain't the free food, or handouts, asmost would give there first born or right eye for some. Its really sad. It has been a problem in the Bluff and Annaville since I was in high school. I went to school with a girl who parent's were busted for making the stuff. She never touched the stuff, but was arrested too. When we would hang out at here house there were always a bunch of lots other people over hanging out with her parents and we never knew why ntil after the bust.
It isn't just a local problem though. The fastest growing per capita populations of meth users are suburban housewifes and senior citizens.
And no it isn't right for the police to not be doing their jobs. If they were it would have never gotten to this in Corpus or anywhere else in the nation.
Here's an article or two about how bad the problem has gotten:

Here, here Big John! Can you say "liberalism"? This is what happens to a society that wants people to depend on the government. Well, we have been depending on the city, county, state and federal government to do what it takes to control crime and criminals [among everything else] and nothing will change until "we the people" step back into the equation! Our borders are one of the sorriest examples. _________________ Dave
