Yesterday while driving across the JFK bridge, I noticed what appeared to be two separate barges that seemed to have run aground on the east side of the ICW south of Snoopys. They were in the same places for several hours yesterday afternoon. Maybe blown off course by the wind or afraid to try going under bridge with the high wind. Anybody know?

Most bardge captains in real high winds won't take a chance of crossing
under a bridge with out complete control of their tug and bardge. Most of the time unless they have a puller motor on the bow of the bardge
they will pull over and wait until the wind is down and they can move in a safe manner. We shure don't want another Port Isable accident here.

Yup those barges broke loose from thier tug in the CC ship channel. The wind caught them and the tug was able to shepard them aground just south of snoopy's. They are safe and sound the the inner harbor as we speak.

we noticed all that as well. it was obvious that the guys south of the JFK were pulled over but we also noticed the guys north of the bridge were not having such an easy time of it. those winds were pretty impressive
