C.H., Matty Mae, Richard and I boxed six 2- to 3-lb pompano and 44 whiting at PINS. Caught the pomps in about 7 casts from atop the far bar in the vicinity of Coyote Pass (M.P. 33), then they were done. Broke my line in the wade gut at the 40 on a redfish I sight-casted to with my 14-foot rod. Must have had a frayed spot at the knot. We were using the usual dead shrimp and Fish'n Strip combo.
Cap'n Billy was reaping reds, catching six at one stop near the 35, and we saw him catch another a little farther south.
Lots of dead sargassum in the water at the 2WD area, new weed not too bad in the water at Little Shell, and great big rafts of new weed in the water in Big Shell. Past the 30, you could pick your spots and long rod fairly well. Driving very rough, especially in Big Shell. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

Thanks Johnny,
Was the sand packed down yet rough or still soft and rough also? In other words was it slow 4x4 only through there?
Can't get the foot wet due to minor foot surgery It figures the wind would die.

Was pretty firm heading down, but churned up going back. No discernable tide, and plenty of weed on the beach, so had to drive really bad ruts beginning to return in Big Shell. Recommend the high road in Big and Little Shell until THAT gets screwed up ecause it was wetted from the rain and rig tending the most. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!

| Nice report Johnny, when's the fish fry? lol...........Seems like the bigger whiting are starting to show up. In Galveston the whiting seem to get bigger for some reason. When the bull whiting come in there its common to catch 20incher's how come they dont get that big down here? |
