I know this is probably a dumb question, but can anyone tell me where is the closest place to launch a kayak if i wanted to fish nighthawk bay in the mornin. Thanks

legally??? The only area I know is Bird Island and paddle north to fish the south end of nighthawk. I have not found any legal access close to the north side. I know if you have a 4x4 there may be some options but I have not tried them. Used to wade that area all the time before they put the gate and no trespassing signs up. Been trying to find a way back there myself and had no luck. look forward to seeing if anyone could share some other info.

Well, since they have re-dredged a channel at the end of Sea Pines, I'd say in the Padre Isles canals (but don't leave your truck at the ramp unless you have a sticker cause they will haul it off). Your only other option is Bird Island (which would put you in south nighthawk).

Was over there today near N Nighthawk, big brush fire going on.
