.300 would be the minimum I would say!!! I have heard lots of stories with them running off with 7 mag and .270 bullets....But a well placed shot from any caliber would probably do the trick! Good luck!!
What are you paying the King Ranch for the bull just out of curiosity? |

| That must be an employee price . They are on the website for $500 per day to hunt and $1000 per bull. |

I have hunted the Mariposa Ranch, between Fal and Riviera and shot bulls with a .300 Win Mag and dropped all three with one shot. My girlfriend killed one with a .308 with one shot as well. They run real fast, but they will fall with one shot. But you have to hit them. _________________

We hunted them with bow about 12yrs back. Arrows make really big holes and they don't go to far. I never had a shot but my buddy took one. Went about 60yrs then said its good buys.
The most nervous critter I have ever hunted. I always saw the tail end of them as they went away from me. Great hearing, smell and site. They are so skittish that if you fart, at 100yds its going to hear your butt checks slap and it 200yrs it will smell it and be on it way.
BTW don't even think of using corn. They associate corn with humans. They see corn and they go the other way.
Great critter to hunt.

7mm rem mag will roll em good. speak from experience. They are very similar to elk in size and hide thickness. The reason you hear the stories of them running is not because of caliber, it is because of anatomy. They are an antelope. (think goats here) Their lungs are forward in their chest. You slap a bullet to far back behind the shoulder and you are in the gut. You really have to nail these guys in the shoulder, and you don't need a mega heavy bullet. A 150 BTSP out of a 7mm rem will role them. _________________ Vegetarian (n)...Old indian word for bad hunter |
