Now I am confused.
I thought alcohol was NOT allowed on Bob Hall Pier.

So now alcohol will be allowed on BHP ... but only if it is purchased there?

I think I am starting to understand the true reason for the rule and it rymes with honey.

The alcohol is only at the restaurant. Off premise consumption isn't allowed. The restaurant isn't geared for the fisherman but for those that would like a meal overlooking the water. Very common at fishing piers throughout the nation.

Fishing & beer go together. Should allow 2 beers per person on pier....Just a thought, I know you'all will be against that! Laughing

It is not the restraunt issue.

It is the drunks on the pier running around like idiots.

My concerns are what happens at closing time. Have you seen it in there? It is a certified bar in the corner?

Currently, there is no enforcement on the pier for alcohol consumption, what makes me think it is going to happen after they start selling it inside.

History tells me there is going to be problems with rail walkers, obnoxious idiots, fights, etc. This is what I have to go on, UNLESS there are some major changes in the near future.

It all goes back to enforcement , if police would do some patrols they could hand out some PIs' and word would spread not to get @$#%faced on the pier , beer and fishing does go hand in hand though ...

For now, it will not be the consumption of alcohol overlooking the water as there is no place for this to happen with exception of maybe one table.

Supposedly the county is making new owners responsible for all infractions, accidents, etc. that occur on the pier involving alcohol.

Supposedly the county will be building a walk-around type patio this winter. No, I do not know where the money will come from to build patio.

Now, let me see if I got all this straight,

1. Fish equipment and pier admittance biulding

2. Surf shop

3. Now, bar

We sure are improving things around there for an environment of safe, enjoyable relaxation with friends and family.

Alcohol will now be a factor when night falls.....idiots become braver than ever.....hopefully this doesnt happen....anyway I will be there for the free tacos, but pass on the beer.....hopefully it's not too full on the pier.

I'm starting to believe the only solution to the problems at the pier would be for it to become part of PINS and ran by the the parks department.

As for the rules, they need updated and enforced. Can you drink beer on the beach? I'm for canned beer and cast nets.
