Getting old and my memory is hit and miss.

Back in 1975-76 I was a high school kid working at a bait stand on SPID, located about where the side entrance to HEB is now. It was beside a Burger Chef and had a bunch of storage barns out back. We sold bait, block ice and the usual beach stuff like sandals and the like. Also had a couple of gas pumps.

The owner was a tough old lady named either Mr's White or Mr's Smith.

Does anyone remember the name of the bait stand?

It might have been Ed’s Sporting Goods.

It seems to me that Ed’s was a little further back towards town than the description I’m reading. There was one called Mac’s.

That's it! Thank you. Glad to see your memory is better than mine. Very Happy
