Came down Sunday and set up the camper north of the sticks on PINS. Water was beautiful if a bit cool to my scrawny legs. Visibility was great and surf minimal. Zero tar. In short, beach perfection.

I didn't catch a single fish. Mullet, shrimp and Fish Bites, nothing worked.

Went off shore Tues and limited out on kings in little over an hour, all within a mile of the south jetty. First time I have ever caught kings simply by dropping a bait over the side, no trolling.

Back to the beach, no fish Weds or Today. More surf, less water clarity. Tar has rolled in this morning, brand new, glossy black and like hot taffy in texture. We're going to move north of Packery tonight for our final day, hopefully things will change. I have four baggies of king fish but I was really hoping for pompano.
