I ran accross an article titled "Why FlourBluff - A Paper Trail" written by Kris Hawkins some time ago, but I don't remember where it was posted. I think this is the one out of two I read by him which references him having a project South of Austin on HWY 290 called "Graceland Grocery" and the "Graceland Oaks Event Center" ,and they are no longer operating either. Maybe he is trying to lose money for tax purposes?
I originally posted a link to the article, but it didn't post well, so I deleted it. I'm of the opinion one could Google the neame of the article and find it, if interested. |

Well like i had said before the food was below average and the service there was worse.
Went back in August with some friends and we were amazed how much the bill was again for an average lunch, and the service was even worse, We finally just left the cash on the table and left, because our waitress was to busy talking about her next tattoos to another employee. |

Maybe it is time for a followup article. How his "GRRRRaceland" creations on the corner of Circle Drive and Highway 290 west of Austin went belly up. Family Fun! Or how they created a KOA RV park at the end of Caribbean, only to sell it to Firefly a.k.a. "Evolution Corpus", where each RV pad was sold off to private individuals, and a "condo regime" was put in place to rent the pads or on-site Tiny Homes. Family fun! I do not see much family fun going on at Bluff Landing Marina, either. Maybe the article could say why their "Family" and their companies are selling off all their properties in Flour Bluff. Too much family fun? _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |

Disappointing because a locally owned business that IMO had great food failed. We went 10 times or so, food was always great, service did lack at times, but I have had much worse in this town lol.
That being said, appears there is more to the story than just Hawkins/Bluff Landing being the cause of their failure. A little digging in public record appears to show multiple lawsuits on the owners for lack of payment on multiple things, rent being one of them from the previous location by HEB. My wife knows an employee that worked there and they were not getting paid, and not receiving their tip money there at the end. Hard to feel bad now knowing all of that. Sounds like Karma may have caught up.. |
