Since the entire marina property is leased from the General Land Office for 20 years (ending Feb 1, 2044), the "possession" of a boat slip, technically a "Licensee" of the lease holder, will end. So, $80,000 for 20 years (240 months). Comes out to $333.33 per month. Basically a long term lease, unless they finance it, and then interest is added.

for map of lease area, see page 17 of

https://nueces.tx.publicsearch.us/doc/199757094

The marina lease is $374,775.00 for 20 years. Years 1-10 @ $17,911.80; years 11-20 @ $19,565.70.

I still don't understand the ownership and legal access of the road and the ramp specifically. I get the rest of it..
This looks like someone (hawkins?) deeded the ramp to BL?.

I thought I had heard here that that was built and owned by GLO?...

On another note, Boat Stop is making an offer, I'm considering it, but still makes me think a short drive to Clem's or Billings makes more sense even if it does get really busy..

Just drove by BL a while ago.
Not a single truck or trailer in the lot,
The Landing closed...
Bait store closed...
Cones in front of ramps..
5 cars total at Miami and Papas.. Including employees I would guess..
Idk how they're gonna make it now..

Sad state of affairs.

Think I'm going to email Todd Hunter and see what he has to say about this glo public ramp, leased by a tenant, being closed and sold off to the highest bidder..

We'll see if that gets any traction..

That property where little wigglers used to be is posted for a zoning change. The city should buy that instead of changing the zoning and it already has a boat ramp. They can improve that and it would be a great public boat ramp. But that just makes too much sense.

word down at city hall is that the Torero group who bought little wigglers is heading for privatization as well...hence the people all slowly getting their trailers out of there...there are plans for 40 RV slips, and then eventually private boat ramp and private parking behind a gate...

I heard Dan Suckley said the other day that the city is looking at an area over by Dimmit pier.

The city owns the lot just south of Jim's Boat Barn site (now sold to someone else). Why not there?

Wait, I thought someone said the place with dual boat ramps at the back of Whiteley Cove was little wigglers?

Regardless, that place there at Laguna Shores and Yorktown would be a good location, but definitely would need to be dredged, I barely got out of there last time I used it before they blocked it off..

All options, Dimmit Pier at Jester Street, the place next to the old Jim's Boat Barn, and the Yorktown at Laguna Shores place will need dredging to make a good boat ramp access.

Nope, little wigglers was there at Yorktown at Laguna shores. It was a bait stand and they even had a bar next door.

And the back in the day, where the restaurant is at Bluff Landing, that used to be Jerry's bait stand

Yes, it's on the City's November Bond initiative.

Sucks that it's north of SPID but it may end up being the lone option.

OK, gotcha, I'm trying to catch up on "Bluff history"
So was there ever a public launch access at those two ramps at the back of Whiteley Cove?

That sure is a sweet spot..

No, that area at the end of Whitely has always been private property.

I remember Little Wigglers being C&W for many years. Prior to that, I am drawing a blank. Honestly thought it was Jerrys prior to that.

Bluff Landing was Haps in the 80's,then became Bluff Landing .The marina was going downhill fast in the 90's when it was Bluff Landing / Boondocks bar. It was Red's place in the 60's and early 70's, my family owned it then. Was talkign with my Dad and he thought is was sold in 71-73 timeframe, but wasnt 100% sure as he would have been a young kid then. Was it Jerrys bait stand after that timeframe or before?

At one point you had Coburn marine as well that had a launch, this was just North of the Tropic Isles ramps, opposite side of Carribbean. Take a right into Tropic Isles ramps or take a left into Coburn Marine. The building was still there until they started the housing projectthere, and up into the early 90's there were a ton of old boats/motors/trailers abandoned behind there.

A little further North where the cinder block building sits currently just past the bar was another marina. My Dad mentioned the name of this place this past weekend, but I cant remember it.

Only other ramps in the Bluff besides these would have been the ramp at the fish house on Shore, still used by the few Commerical guys running around, and also a spot where Kenny builds/repairs houseboats. Then you had the Exxon Docks which is now Boat Stop, and you had Boat Hole Marina which is on the Northside of SPID and is now Bluff Bay Marina. I guess technically, there never has been a true Public ramp in the Bluff.
