If I took that route that you're talking about I'd have been scared off too. Head over to the junction then up to Roswell and then from Roswell up to Ojo Caliente through Santa Fe

Looks like I won't be fishing for about a week. My sister and brother-in-law coming in from New Jersey to visit for about a week and they're not fisher people. Won't just be taking him around and showing him the sights.

No fish pictures today but having some friends coming over later for a fish fry. I brought trout, red and flounder from Corpus for everyone. Set up this game area for everybody. Horseshoes, washers and cornhole.

Fished the Rio Grande today. It was a little slower than the other day but still wound up managing about seven or eight rainbows and a bunch of bass. None of the bass were very big though. I also had a first. I heard this splashing behind me and at first I thought it was a big horn coming down for a drink. I saw hoof marks in the mud right there earlier so I turned and looked. Then I see a bunch of splashing in the water and I thought it might have been a beaver. Turns out it was a big school of very big carp working the shallows. They didn't like any of the lures I had but it was fun watching them. I took a video but I don't know how to post videos here on Corpus fishing.
