I was fishing with my top water dropper combo like I have been in dirty water lately. All of a sudden The dropper gets hit really hard and I start getting line stripped out at high rate of speed. Didn't know if I was ever going to be able to stop it. Got all the way down to where my braid is tied onto my mono on my reel when he starts slowing down and I was able to turn him a little bit and start bringing them back to the boat. On the way back he would make several more runs of shorter distances and then I started working him back. I get hom close to the boat and I looked down at him and I said holy s...! It was easily in the mid thirties. When he saw the boat he decided he didn't like that and he stripped line out again. Started bringing him back in and as I got fairly close to the boat he goes around the front of the boat and off to the other side and starts stripping again. I bring him back and he decides to go under the boat. I was able to put my rod down in the water and bring it around the front of the boat and out the other side. Start bringing him back in again and he decides to do the same thing go around to the other side of the boat and it looks like he's starting to get a little tired and I'm going to be able to net him. Not! Goes back under the boat but this time he doesn't come out the other side but heads straight towards the motor. Obviously the line rubs against the prop and snapped and he was gone along with my top water and my dropper. It was a fun fight even though I didn't get to land him

Well, hopefully he doesn't get hung up somewhere and starve to death. Maybe someone will see the topwater moving along and try to catch it, and the redfish. I recall a red being in our canal pulling a cork along behind him last year. I told Tony about it, but he just waved it off with no concern. Sounds like it was a fun pull!

It was fun. And I searched for the top water for a while to no avail.

Gotta love that drag ripping sound and feel from a big ol' red.
I guess it wouldn't be as much fun if we caught everyone of em, least that's what I tell myself every-time I lose one.. Embarassed
