|
|
| All of a sudden my power pole won't go up and down. I checked the switch and it has power. I ran a direct wires from the battery to the wires connecting to power pole and it works up and down. So somewhere in between there's a problem. And I have no idea anything about electricity to figure it out. Frustrating. |

Hey Tom, you can go to the power-pole website and contact them that way or call them they have a support number on their site. Their website has a form you can fill out and they'll answer you via email.

Probably a corroded wire or bad connection down in your hull between the switch and the power pole sounds like to me.
You can test continuity on both ends of each wire to verify they're good or not.
I've got a volt Metter with a continuity tester I can bring you and show you how if you like.
I've recently had two bad wires in my old hull.
one for the live well and one for the jack plate.
Saltwater and heat in a closed up environment are rough on copper wiring. _________________ Steve-O

that's exactly what he needs! the miracle of corpusfishing helping each other!
(likely the best bet would be to use the old wires to pull new ones and be done with it)

| Hey Captain academy that would be great. Even if I knew it I was doing with a multimeter I don't know what all the little figures and everything is. I don't even know what to turn it to set it. I'm thinking it's the wires in the hull as well but I don't want to start pulling them out until I know for sure |

| Coach Zia, any progress? I would be glad to take a look if all else fails. I'm no electrical genius, but generally get it figured out. Let me know. |

| Corpus fishing came through. Actually CaptinAcademy came through. Took a long time but we found little loose connections here and there and little breaks in the various wires and he was able to figure it out and fix it for me. I sure appreciate everything you did today Steve. I owe you fishing trip big time. |

Hey now, I'm slow, yeah, but I distinctly remember getting it fixed, drinking a couple beers with ya and BS'ing, and back at the house in the pool in about 2 1/2 hrs...
Just paying it forward...
Now if someone can help me figure out my oil pump issue
All kidding aside, was great to meet you and glad we could get it fixed!
Here's to hoping some of your fish juju rubbed off on me... _________________ Steve-O
