When fishing at the Rio Grande today again I caught a couple nice browns. While releasing the second one I looked up because I heard a noise. About 20 yards from me there was a bighorn ram standing in the river drinking. By the time I got my camera out it went back in the brush. After releasing the second Brown I started heading to a different part of the river when I saw antlers shining.
I try to see if I can get a little closer to get a better picture.
As I tried to get a little bit closer he looked at me and turned his head snorted and started walking toward me.
As he was walking toward me I was starting to walk away but he kept coming at me. I thought oh oh I'm in deep do do right now. My fishing rod was not going to be good enough to hold him at bay. And he stopped and looked at me.
Finally he snorted again turned and walked away and I made my way back to my vehicle
Pretty fun day. Caught and released two real nice brown trout and got to be within 15 ft of a large bighorn ram. |

Makes one wonder what attached him to you, maybe it's mating season for them and he was attracted to your smell? |

Thank you for the photos.
It appears winter is slow to arrive. I see no snow or ice at waters edges. |

Yeah no snow or rain for last 14 weeks. Supposed to get a light snow on Tuesday and then maybe up to a foot in the mountains on Friday. Was planning to go salmon, Kokanee, fishing during the week but I'll have to check on the weather. Hopefully I'll be able to get pictures for everybody of snow and salmon |
