Just got word yesterday that Mary and I both tested positive for covid. We both went and got monoclonal antibody injections. This morning I wasn't feeling too bad decided what better way to quarantine than to go out in the boat by myself out in the middle of the Laguna and be around no one. Unfortunately the fish must have gotten word that I had covid and stayed away from me also. Fished for about 2 hours and got one 17 and a half inch trout. And now I'm paying for it. I should have just rested today to get my strength back but I'm feeling kind of puny right now. Also found out I lost my sense of smell.
On another note. I saw this t-shirt, and being that I'm a retired educator. I just had to get it.

Hope you get better quick. Took me about 2 weeks to recover but that was back in January when they really weren't doing any treatments.

Thanks guys. Sure glad I got both doses prior to coming down with this stuff. Just a few days ago I also got my senior dose of the regular flu shot

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. My mom caught it from an unvaccinated family member but it went very easy for her due to her vaccination, despite being very immune compromised. You should be up and well soon, just take it easy.

Thanks everyone appreciate it. My wife's feeling really bad today but I'm feeling pretty good. Actually I went out and planted four oleanders which was dumb on my part but I have a hard time sitting still

People usually feel bad for about 24 hours after the monoclonal antibody infusion. Maybe 48 hours. Hope your wife is feeling better soon. Yes it definitely seems like if you have been vaccinated the severity is less. Wish they would let us go ahead and start boostering people. Zia I hope you are out there catching big trout and redfish again soon. Maybe give the trout a break for a few days and get some rest though.

I'm thinking probably refereeing volleyball. Two weeks ago I got tested and I was negative. Then started having congestion and sinus drippage and it just felt like reactions to all the Sahara dust. Then I got tested again and was positive. Didn't even play softball in that time. The only thing I did in between there was referee. I'm not feeling too bad. Been doing a bunch of work around the house last few days and have to take a bunch of rest breaks but no biggie. Mary's not feeling close to being up to par. Although this morning she did have a breakthrough and went for a walk around the marina. |
