Me and a buddy decided to do a quick overnight recon trip to the jetties yesterday afternoon. Driving time was 2.5 hours and was pretty ok in most parts but it was deeply rutted. Lots of bumps and long stretches of soft stay made driving a little sketchy. watch out for the quick drops offs especially at night. Went off a couple by accident. 4wd was engaged 25% of the time. water clarity was pretty consistent dirty green all the way up until the jetties. Jetty clarity was crystal clear all the way to my chest. Did not get to fish as much as I liked because as soon as we hit the jetties my radiator drain plug failed and started spewing coolant everywhere. 5 hours later after a radiator removal we were able to sort the problem and get roadworthy again. We did manage large skipjacks on spoons this morning but not many other takers. Dont forget to wear your seatbelt and watch your speed limit in the first 5! _________________ -Fred- |

Not something anyone wants to experience 60 miles down! Glad you got road-worthy again and made it back to tell the tale. |
