Not too heavy. But it's pretty soft down there right now around little shell on. That dually might bog down a bit even if you air down your tires sufficiently. _________________ Fish ON! |

| My personal opinion the dually tires sometimes help for larger footprint more than just a single wheel diesel. Ive taken mine down there without issue but its always different, and diesels are heavy as hell so good luck |

I have no experience driving a truck of that size and weight on the sand, but the few times I've seen trucks like that stuck down there, they got stuck because the 4wd wasn't working or the drivers were in 2wd, stuck the back end, put it in 4wd, stuck the front, and just sat there spinning deeper. I've never understood the lets "see if i can make it through in 2wd" thing. That being said, if you start spinning in 2wd, stop before you dig in, get out, dig the back out a bit with your foot or whatever so its a nice easy incline, not a cliff, put it in 4wd, and come on out. My $.02. _________________

Thanks for the replies everyone. The reason I'm asking is because I was told the front end was so heavy it would tend to plow into the sand. I don't have a problem using the 4x4 if the sand is lose or needed for any reason.
Thanks, again! _________________ Salad, Salad, everywhere and not a bite to eat. |

| Just take a few 2x12s and a shovel just in case. |

I go down in a 3/4 ton all the time. Rarely use 4x4 but if I see loose sand coming up put it in and go. _________________ Shane |

OK, if I decide to use them I'll let you know.
I'm looking at some traction mats now. _________________ Salad, Salad, everywhere and not a bite to eat. |

I drove a F250 diesel for years. Lock 'em in when you hit the beach and out when you empty your trash and you'll never have a problem. |
