Went down on my lunch break to see how bad it might be inside the t heads off the seawall. I saw 1 dead pelican and just a handful of floating mullet and 1 hardhead.

The good news is theres tons of tiny fish using the oysters on the seawall as cover living happily as they did before the freeze. Saw several bait fish flipping on the surface looking to get away from something.

Made a few casts and caught 2 keeper trout where the bait was flipping and missed a hand full of bites. It was super subtle. Here's some pics....

I'll be out tomorrow morning as well in the Laguna, hopefully I'll have something worthwhile to report.

thanks for the report.
If you read the Little Cut kayak reports from Josh and me, we saw a devastating kill of trout trapped on Estes in the week-long NW blow.
Noteworthy, the day after the freeze ended, we found 300 healthy and strong redfish grazing on the incoming tide.

The TPWD press release on the fish kill is not alarming, certainly by intent, and looking forward to the result of their follow-up study on live fish populations.
