Foggy day today.
We left the corner of whitecap and park road 22 at 6:55 this am with .25 mile visibility.
Instead of 15 minute drive to the end of the pavement more like 30 minutes with slow moving but safe traffic.
Visibility was about the same to the high banks with vehicles parked poorly causing what to heck comments.
Around the 10 the SS Minnow is aground but I did not see Ginger.
At the high banks the visibility dropped to maybe 50 ft.
There was significant week at the water line and I had no desire to stop.
Big surprise at the turtle shack because two payloaders clearing sand and pushing wood debris to the dunes.
We heard the back up beepers before we could see them.
The fog was so very thick I could not read the beach. I stopped twice at two places and walked into the surf to what I thought were suck outs only to find much weed.
Finally at the 43 I stumbled into a suck out with moderate weed so stopped there.
Fished for two hours before tide stranded to shrink to beach.
Ended up catching 17 fish on frozen shrimp and fish bites.
1 red
1 black drum
7 whiting
8 pompano
We did harvest one 26 inch red one 20 inch drum two 18 inch pompano and one 19 inch whiting.

Nice catch sinker. Mary and I went to the surf this morning but only south of Bob hall. Fog was with us up until we left at noon. Strange thing was at Bob Hall the fog was thick soon as we got on the other side of the dunes it was totally clear. Strange

That's a fairly common thing this time of year. The proper term for it is the 'Spring Break Bank'. The lovely weather in the Bluff and on the Island lures the Spring Breakers out to the beach, only to be met with a thick fogbank that hugs the duneline! It's always comical to see the hoards of bikini-clad girls shivering in the fog!! Laughing Oh..Oh... Look at us. We're on Spring Break. Rolling Eyes
