I read a lot about issues we have on the water with discourteous boaters, and I've experienced some as well. However, yesterday was the opposite. I did a first for me, and ran a heavy live bait hook deep through the side and end of my ring finger. Fortunately, the barb made it outside the of skin. I grabbed my pliers with side cutters, but both broke when I tried to cut off the barb. With no other options, I planned to head in, but another boater idling by let me use his nippers. A quick snip and I backed the hook out. I just wanted to thank the fellow fishermen for for their kindness and help. It made resolution quick and relatively easy. If you folks are on this board, thanks again, I really appreciate the assistance and courtesy.
Thanks Again, SWD _________________ Live Full |

Glad you were able to get help. And hope the finger doesn't get infected. |

Oops. It always hurts worse the next day. I have snagged a few fingers but never set the hook that hard. Nice to hear some people are still willing to help out. Hopefully you caught some fish. |
