The city of cc webcam at the end of whitecap st is back up.
Great view of the barricades and the surf that looks very fishable. |

It is. Supposedly it only survived by wire. Saw it after Hanna hit and it was upside down facing the condos, but still working, LOL. The one on St, Augustine made it through...facing the storm straight on vs. sideways, like Whitecap...just like a boat.
I see campfires going. Glad for people parking up against the illegal barricades and still enjoying it, even after illegal curfew. Things are looking up for us and down for Karen.
I'm still amazed at the footage that the BHP cam caught on Mikel Mays right before it knocked out...literally see the T-head disappear...sad yet +100 respect for Mother Nature. Meanwhile, the PINS cam froze at 10:25am on the day before landfall. I think it was about the same before Harvey. It's back now, though.
All of this and yet the weather station on BHP not only survived but is still giving off readings... Amazing. _________________ All things will pass. Have a Blessed day. |

I havent seen the footage of the t-head going down - i was watching the webcam - so interested in how high those sets of waves were, just incredibly high. I was looking at the webcam image, got a phone call ,turned took the call, lasted about 5 minutes, when i turned back to that monitor , the t was down. Did you actually see the T collapse ? And the malaquite webcam went down this morning - i believe right before sunrise. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

Yea, same for me. I'd been watching it most of the day seeing how high the wave sets were. I forwarded the link to a buddy that lives here and has a house in the Padre canals . He text me back, and asked, "what happened to the T-Head?" I was just appalled. _________________ dunedawg |

awful news, hard head central. Like I said in a comment awhile back if we ever needed a summer to take all pressure off the "surf trout" well 2020 was their year. |
