It looks like this thing will make landfall on PINS somewhere around the Baffin Bay area and move inland late today. Bad news for the King Ranch, but also bad news for us. We're going to take the upper NE quadrant, which is historically the most damaging. Since it didn't have much time to develop, I don't expect much from it but high winds, maybe some power outages and light flooding.

The real concern is Gustavo, following up the south Caribbean right into Hanna's tracks. A nice high pressure system or even a good tidal change can throw him off, but for now the models show him entering the Gulf if he makes it past the Caribbean isles. If he does, expect re-strengthening and if the same low that brings Hanna in brings him here, we can expect a central-north Texas coastal landfall.

2020 has done some damage, but we're only halfway through. Heads up!

Thanks for the "inside info". Any mention of potential storm surge?

I really, really hate clouds with names! Harvey was #7 for me, and I fared well. I lost 38-foot yachts in #1(Hugo) in 1989 and #6(Omar) in 2008. Doesn't sound like Miss Hanna's gonna be TOO bad. Good luck and best to all! ...TexasJim...

Water to the dunes at best. Baffin & Kingsville are going to take the head.

So I got scalded by my indirect 'manager' for me and my co-horts attending the EOC briefing yesterday over what is now TS Hanna (even though that has been standard practice for years plus I was personally invited to it by the EOC Mgr whom I've known personally for years...You can imagine my frustration as well as confusion...)

I am hoping the tropical storm is going to mess up the cold water upwelling. Maybe we will have some nice green water up on the beach soon. I am going to be fishing all next week. I am sure that is going to include some really high tides in the Laguna and Baffin Bay...Not sure if the surf will flatten out after the storm or not.

I was hoping the cool water upwelling would help decrease the strength of Hanna as it comes close to shore... but it appears to not help much.

Best of luck next week, Doc. Please be wary of that character you will be fishing with Sunday and Monday. I have been down there with him for years and coastal flooding is attracted to him like a tornado to a trailer park. But he can catch some fish!

Hope you have a great time!
