I saw OSOFARAWAY's post on looking for someone to repair his boat deck so thought I would share what I did with a soft deck in my 1985 Ski Barge. I peeled all the old carpet out and the hard part was grinding all the old glue off.

The new piece of plywood is where the center pedestal goes. Water leakage through the attaching screws caused the rot. I should have used marine grade plywood but used what I had on hand. The two lower plywood pieces are from a previous repair. I didnt get a pic of doublers I put underneath the seams of the new plywood. There are two stringers running in the middle of the repair that supports most of the weight.

I put a layer of fiberglass cloth around the seams then a layer over the whole repair area.

I used a nonskid paint TuffCoat from bass pro. Urethane paint on sides and under pedastal. All paint just applied with roller.

Its held up real good. The nonskid is a little hard to keep clean. It seems to trap dirt but does the job intended.

Cost of supplies was about $150. It is a dirty job but no special skills needed.

Nice Job. Great boat. I had one several years ago. Liked how it flexes in rough water.
