I also agree with this, no matter what the MSM BS feeds you. We saw a spike because all the 'protesting' began around the same time as re-opening. I'm going to go into a subject about why gun sales have been skyrocketing this year. It's something people don't like to talk about, but I will:

Hell, even before the "BLM" campaign started up again, they had protesters out on the streets 'protesting' the protesters that were protesting mask requirements and all that. You want to see hypocrisy in action? Just go to any protest hotspot. Just spoke to my friend in Austin, my old digs: He encountered a 'homeless' person that asked him to buy food, and when he refused, he was harassed and told by another 'homeless' to say it was for reparations. My friend and his family have been poorer than any white family I know for centuries; and I hale from Irish and Welsh potato farmers that grew and picked their own crops; long before that doing the same thing in France.

I've always wanted to live here, and now I do, but I saw this coming to Austin long before it actually happened. They are using a pandemic as an excuse for rebellion, and they've got Christians so scared they won't fight back. This IS the war the Bible foretold. The virus is just one of the many plagues. Arm up, Christian soldiers - this is only the beginning. His return will be very soon. I'm not afraid of what I say or do, and I'll be damned if I bow to anyone but Our Lord and Savior. I don't care about the color of my skin or anyone's. I don't care what they believe in. I don't care about their sexual preferences or orientation. I don't care how you make your living. But when you tread on me, there will be consequences.

I say this because the MSM and BLM are trying to make an example of the couple that rightfully defended their property in St. Louis, when 'protesters' broke the law and entered a PRIVATE neighborhood. At that point, just like when you block a public roadway, you're no longer protesting, you are rioting. And our police don't do a damn thing. Think your government is out to protect you? Nah. ARM UP.

Enough with this crap. I am among all of you, no matter what you believe, I will NEVER fire the first shot. I blend with the crowd intentionally, even wearing a mask and a smiling face beneath it. I just want to fish, work, and live my peaceful life. But like I said before - I WILL take action if anyone stands in front of me from doing any of those peaceful things, because I know my government won't.

Someone PLEASE give me a fishing report.

Sadly, I think we are just now starting to see rise in cases due to the protests. I am hopeful we will not see a dramatic increase as some of the re closing effects also mitigate the rise in protests cases. I am also hopeful that the nature of the protest with respect to COVID might not see the same dramatic increases seen from reopening due to the outdoor nature of the "events", limited viral loading, and possible under reporting of cases due to the age of the participants and their resultant asymptomatic responses.

On MSM, I generally agree unless its to grab a general headline. For the COVID 19 info I have been following CIDRAP, which is the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy. I would post a link but I don't want the site to truncate my response. Just Google CIDRAP. Dr. Michael Osterholm does a weekly podcast that has been spot on from the beginning. It is a time commitment though, so don't expect any sound bites or quick conclusions.

For a thorough education I would go back to the beginning as they are all archived. Looks like many of us will have the time, because I am sure as heck not going to the beach for awhile, mostly because I hate crowds and generally don't like people. Smile

Great response. Sounds non-biased so I will check it out.

Corpus Health is reporting 262 new infection cases and a total of 3018 for Nueces County. In my comparing Nueces Cty with Travis CTy today I learned Travis has only approximately 400 more active cases then Nueces! Obviously, Travis has a much greater population, so it appears the CCP Virus is more intense in Nueces, which surprises me.

I think the bigger question is....After the Shutdown of Vehicle Traffic is lifted. How will the Beaches be then? Or do we keep allowing our Employees/Elected Officials to keep tightening the noose. I'm all for exploring new areas to fish, sans bunches of People. Suggestions?

The CC or NUeces County CCP Virus reporting site is reporting 254 new infections for a total of 3272 infections in Nueces County and a total of 10 deaths. Nueces County only has 32 less active cases then Travis County, a much more populated county. Travis County has 2412 reported active cases and Nueces County has 2380 reported active cases of the CCP Virus.

My county in North Central Arkansas has 2. I think I'll stay home and fish.

The CC Covid Update site is reporting 321 new infections for a new total of 3593 infected with the CCP Virus in CC! Stay covered and distant out there so it doesn't get you or your loved one!

What I wanna know is how do they keep track of the people that are recovered to make that number go down? I doubt the hospitals or trackers are making calls after people are discharged from the hospital. This is a serious question. Inquiring minds wanna know.

^^^ Glad you asked. Go to the following link and it gives you the recovered number. However, CC did real well the first approximate 3 months, but over the last few days we have more cases each day then we did over the first almost three months in total, thus the active cases was only 32 less than Austin/Travis County and it has approximately 1 million more population! Here's the link:https://corpus.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/fe742480193d4fff98f7af38c5104cfc
Please note, as of yesterday Nueces had 244 more active cases then Travis County!!!!!!! Shocked

I've been giving private volleyball lessons lately but I just recently put that on hold. With all these increases in positive cases and deaths I think it's best to not be around a bunch of high schoolers in a confined space like a gym

Although the number is important, It's not the number that I wanna know, it's how they got the number. Who keeps track or how?

The information comes from the respective health department in each county, including the Nueces County Health Department. I originally found the information by simply searching for the Nueces Health Department and learned they had a dedicated site for reporting the numbers. I suggest you call them if you need more specific answers. I can only guess a licensed health official must report any information they have on infected individuals, especially on a new virus like we are dealing with.

And it's the Typhoid Mary's in the population that do a more than significant portion of the infecting. One has it and contacts his 10 friends who contact their 10 friends and so on 1x10=10 10x10+100 10x100+1000 10x1000=10,000. It doesn't take long. Divide each by 10 and it still doesn't take long.

Wearing of masks should be mandatory. This isn't a case of personal rights being violated.

here are some hard numbers on this thought:

https://www.kiiitv.com/article/news/local/city-of-corpus-christi-nueces-county-providing-final-covid-19-update-before-holiday-weekend/503-f006f84d-0fdc-4630-8768-f6726f2a3ce3

Average transmission rate for the area right now is 3.1/week (highest in Texas). One sick person infects, through direct contact or through those they infect, 136 others in a month. That is the current average rate; the no-mask crusaders for personal liberties and teenage beer-pong stars are likely infecting others at a much higher rate.

Zia - consider Duo or face-time calls with those who need coaching. Good idea to pause the in-person coaching for a bit, you will be back

If the "average" transmission rate is 3.1 persons per week and if that can be extrapolated to 136 persons infected in a month (per this article) and if (we take the low number) 1 in 50 people in the county have already been infected, that means everyone in Nueces County will be infected in next 2 weeks. Using that logic, herd immunity will be achieved in 2 weeks and Covid will be finished. How in the world do these people come up with such unsubstantiated numbers?

Amazing, isn't it. Way to many "wannabe" experts out there. That's why I am out on this thread.
