Any areas around there that you can catch black/red/trout from shore with a little consistents when the are biting?

Lighthouse Lakes is well-hit, but has some nice features.
Right where you cross at the gazebo, the pass into LHL can be killer on a falling tide - black drum, trout, reds, sheepshead. Even seen jacks along the channel shore, and smacks have been reported that far.
Paddling deeper into LHL, there's a mix of grass to drift and sloughs to explore for fish sign.
The other side of the causeway is Brown & Root flat - there's good fishing all along Harbor Island after you get through the long B&R channel,
and a much farther paddle will take you to some great structure just out from Harbor Island shore. B&R also drift-fishes well on the prevailing SE wind.
There's Redfish Bay access launching at Conn Harbor to Hog island marina.
