Hi folks,

I'm up in Georgetown and about a year ago moved back to TX after living up in WY for several years. I get down to the Corpus coast a fair bit now and I'm hoping to hook up with a crew of guys who like to yak fish. I got hooked on it up north a few years ago. I know my way around salt water fishing both inshore and offshore, and am hoping to do a bit of both. I'm a decent paddler, and understand my water. I just prefer not to get out on big water alone. Anyhow, if anybody is looking or willing to pick up another fishing partner, let me know. My next trip down will be the week of Memorial Day. Cheers and tight lines

Thanks, I need to refurbish my yaks in the garage. I would love to get out again. Hopefully someone will take you up on that soon.

I like your way of thinking about not wanting to go out alone but with a partner. That's always the safest way. years ago several people that used to post on this website would go out to the rigs by themselves. I thought that was crazy. Good luck finding a yak fishing partner

You might post in the kayak forum, as well.

Ha
Thanks Tyler, yeah I'm gonna be doing a little work on one of my boats prior to this trip. I'm a bit of a diy yak geek. I actually need to upgrade to a bigger boat soon. 10 footers are easy to put on the car rack but a lot of work in wind and chop.

Ziacatcher, thanks for the reply. I grew up deckhanding for my pop on his commercial boat out of Port Isabel. As sideways as stuff can get on the water, an extra brain and set of hands on the job can be a lifesaver.

We actually lived in Teton Valley ID. Right on the WY border. Jackson Hole was our neighbor and I commuted over Teton Pass daily for work in Jackson. My God what an amazing place. Did a lot of fly fishing on the Snake and Teton Rivers, as well as the Yellowstone when up in the park. There were also a ton of great lakes and reservoirs around including the ones in The National Parks. We used to really get after Mackinaw on our Yaks! Also would get out to flaming Gorge a couple times a year. Amazing fishing!

I'm envious Will B, why leave such a beautiful area, with such great fishing to come to Texas, and deal with our heat and mosquitoes? Smile

Ha. Well, we had two beautiful little girls in the past 3 years and the grands are in Corpus. It's really nice to be close again.

Congratulations on the kiddos Will B, they will definitely reorient your life. There was a 10 year period during my children's childhood where I seldom got an opportunity to fish or hunt, due to their and our family activities. I hope you are a better manager of finding fishing time then I was. Smile
