Does Sea Foam make a difference in a boat motor performance (2 stroke Suzuki 25hp) in fresh water use with the new alcohol free gas?? Does it take the place of any other additive you might be using??

Sea Foam is alcohol based, so I'm skeptical. I've seen this discussed on other sites to the point of no solution. However, I have a 200 hp Yamaha and use 10% ethanol, Yamaha Ringfree, and a stabilizer without a problem. Ethanol free gasoline leaves a deposit on the inside of gas tanks and fuel lines, so when one uses a product with alcohol in it the deposits are cleaned off and sent to the engine, then the problems begin. Alcohol also attracts water when exposed to air for an extended period, thus the use of stabilizers. All stabilizers are not equal, but that's another subject.

Non-ethanol gas is bad? Because if you use gas with ethanol after using non-ethanol gas it will do bad things? Ethanol in gas will do bad things. True. Especially to fiberglass fuel tanks.

So use non-ethanol gasoline exclusively and forever.

find non-ethanol gas (note: most marinas in Corpus Christi are not on this list, some marinas in Aransas Pas, Portland, Rockport, Port Lavaca are on list):

the only issue is mixing E0 and E10....it will phase separate....run your E10 down and switch to E0 and don't look back....especially with gas prices today...

I have a Yamaha. I use ring free additive with fill up. I use Sea Foam at 100hr intervals. If you looking for performance additives , my suggestion is 93 octane fuel.

Every gas station including Walmarts inb the state of Arkansas has carried ALCOHOL FREE 93 OCTANE GAS. It's a no brainer to stay away from E10 gas if other is available and if I can't afford the cost difference then maybe I should find something else to do. I just wanted to know how or if others use seafoam in their OB's.

I will offer my advice from an aviation perspective. STAY AWAY from ethanol fuels and additives as much as possible. While it does work in combustion engines, it is 10x more likely to have an uncontrolled explosion vs regular gas (and regular gas is pretty volatile on its own), and it doesn't burn as efficiently. You're better off using higher octane for performance engines, as was stated above. Less ethanol & less lead = cleaner fuel. Little planes use 100LL AvGas which just means it has a 100 rating but is otherwise the same as car gas. In fact there was a time in history when pilots would fuel their cars at self-service fuel stations because AvGas was just as cheap as road gas and much cleaner. Those days are gone, but I can tell you - from an aviation standpoint (keeping in mind, most of your smaller planes run on gas powered piston engines just like your car and boat) - you're better off avoiding the ethanol and its alluring prices and just going with a higher grade fuel. Honestly, I'm surprised marinas and water-side fuel stations haven't started selling 100LL. It would be perfect for boats, too.

I use sea foam in conjunction with a large external fuel filter and i let the outboard run out of gas by disconnecting the fuel hose. I still have to rebuild my carbs all the time. Not sure if the stuff works better than running super. I still use it! can't hurt!!!
