| Got out on the water today about 11:30 because of doctors appointments. I was bummed out when I got back so I went out to see what I can find. Fished the same spot I did last few days with a lot of success and a little over an hour I caught only three trout one of which was 17. The other two were little bitty dinks. I decided to head on home but first I stopped at the 3-minute hole. Same results there until I made an observation. My retrieves today were just like they were the other day slow and it up and down motion. I saw a nice sand pocket off to my right so I threw my lure out there and instead of an up-and-down motion because the winds were up pretty high I brought it back in a sweeping motion. I had my rod tip almost down on the water level and just the same Pace as I was using but in a sweeping motion instead of up and down. Bang an 18 inch trout. Made a couple more cast in front of me with the up-and-down motion and nothing decided okay throw it out and keep my rod tip down and bring it in. The rest of my drift I wound up catching probably 10 or 12 trout 3 of which were keepers. I went back around and the first part of the drift I was using an up-and-down motion again to see what would happen. One undersized fish. Used a sweeping motion and bang bang bang more fish. Went around for another drift but this time I decided to use the same color but in a suspending twitchbait. Threw it out use a sweeping slow motion and only one little tap. Finish that drift with my sand eel in a sweeping motion and caught some more fish. Stopped at the 2-minute honey hole and same thing up and down motion I didn't even get a bite. Switched to a low sweeping motion and I caught three more fish one of which was a keeper. What all this means I don't know except that if something doesn't work try something else, whether that be different color lures, different types of lures, different presentations or drink a different kind of beer, and who knows what might happen |

Glad you got into a few.
I think we saw you today. If your last drift was a short one before you headed in, then we were to your left on your second to last drift.
We fished south side of Pita first, including the color change. Then north side of Pita before we headed in. Daughter caught a dink fishing a sand eel slow. |

what that says is that you need to conscientiously need to vary your retrieve each and every time you go out to make sure you hit them...
