I've never thought about a cat getting air born, but I can only guess the problem ocurred, due to running North at a high speed against a North wind, plus it's sounds like they were running in pretty shallow water, since they ended up on the sand? Running in shallow water would have probably exposed the underside of the bow to the wind to a greater extent.

I've read where cats used offshore result in "coughing", due to waves being large enough to hit the under side of the hull, thus pushing the water in the direction the boat is going. I can only guess the coughing problem is more applicable to the smaller cats, and the larger ones probably have less of an experience with coughing.

My thoughts and prayers for the injured guest or probably customer. I would love to know the status of the person or persons injured in the referenced accident if anyone has any information.

As of 7:00a today, one person was released and is at home with a back brace. The other is still in ICU in a coma but is doing better, was taken off of life support and is breathing on his on. Also has movement in his fingers, arms and legs. From what I understand there is a brain MRI scheduled.

Thanks! for asking and your concern.

Sorry unable to share anymore info.

Thanks for the good news update, Captain. I pray for a full recovery for both men.

I still miss my buddy Stan.

Sounds more positive than I expected, and that the person in ICU may be up and running soon. Hopefully, the results MRI will be good, and he can go home sooner than later and be back with his family.

Thomas J Henry was spotted prowling the boat show later that day...

Good luck on recovery boaters!

Anyone have any updates on the injured parties? It's just hard to comprehend why there is not more information available on this accident and the health of the injured parties. The only good the hush is going to serve is to get someone else killed or severely injured, as those in this case. I guess everyone is more concerned about Shoalwater Boat's bottomline than they are about their friend or neighbor who might purchase a similar boat and engine combo.

I call it DeathRace2000 on the water. It gets folks killed. You see it a lot in the bass tournaments on the highland lakes chain up here. Want to REALLY pucker? Be out in your boat and hear these guys coming for miles at speed in the DARK. These guys are running blind and following a GPS chart line back to the ramp.
