I've only seen this once before, many moons ago at Port A. Calm, sunny day, and all of a sudden the waves rush up to the dunes and catch everybody by surprise! Even knocked a few folks down that weren't paying attention back then. Lots of soaked beach blankets and towels.
Today, around 2:30, I ran out to Access Rd. 6, just as one of these wave came ashore, and it ran up past the pavement!!! SURPRISE!!!  Went south to see if it crested the berm that the County likes to stack for Lake Packery, and sure enough. This is the view from Newport Pass Rd, looking south to Packery. I guarantee, nobody parked in the water on purpose! It was a Chinese Fire Drill watching all the families gather chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc. and head to higher ground!

Good thing you posted that here. LOL. On FB you would have been banned. I'm currently serving a 30 day block because of some post they claim violated policy, but can't tell me or show me which post.
