I was searching those historic buildings like Tarpon inn (originally a Civil War barracks), old houses at the Lighthouse, how they survived hurricanes in the past - what I learned was that they didn't -
- the 1919 Hurricane scalped Tarpon, Texas (Port A).
They just decided on some of the historic buildings to build them over the same way they were before.
I wasn't there for the Civil War, either.

WOW Just think for 29 million you can have a place you can never expect to build anything permanent, you have no utilities or privacy.
You will have trespassers and probably have the wildlife lovers and other people filing injunctions the moment you try to build anything.
Wow and payments on a 30 year fixed rate are only $154,488. Now thats a deal. Guess though if you had billions it would be interesting. Shocked

If it had a luxurious house and landing strip, Nature Conservancy would have already bought it to entertain Ted Turner et.al.

Exactly what I thought.

If I bought the island, I would first petition that the island itself is only contained within the state of Texas and EXCLUDED as part of the United States alone. That makes it state ground, but privately controlled.

Damn I wish I had the $$$. (That is totally possible to do until the Dems make us fully socialist, anyway.)
