I can't believe it but I have never seen Space Balls. I think with John Candy all hairy and that guy Rick Moranis looking all phallic it actually seemed too wacky and dumb to see and believe me wacky and dumb was/is in my wheel house. I mean I am a big Blazing Saddles fan. Baron my dog's actual name is Baron Von Schtupp and homage to Lily from Blazing Saddles!
Maybe I will watch it now on Amazon or Netflicks. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Way too many non-family-friendly jokes to quote from Blazing Saddles for this fine website! But if you enjoyed that, then Space Balls will be like old times.
[Sadly, none of Mel Brook's movies could be made today, in the unfunny politically correct world we live in].
And as a Bonus, if you act now, I'm throwing in one additional funny movie recommendation ... at no cost to you!

Richard Pryor was a writer on the script in Blazing Saddles with Mel Brooks thats why its a laugh a minute. _________________ To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it. - G.K. Chesterton |

Actually it goes beyond that. 'They' wrote the part for him. But the studio that approved the film said they didn't want him due to his 'filthy' reputation - even though he wrote more than 1/2 half the screenplay. And honestly. based on his acting style, I'm not sure it would've had the same impact had they allowed him to take it. I don't think it's right, but at the same time, would it be the legendary film in the right place and time that it is today for generations to enjoy if he had the role? Maybe, maybe not. I think Fate played a role in what that film was and is. Cleavon Little pulled it off, because they pulled him from Broadway. Unknown to film at the time. _________________ All things will pass.
