|
|
Waited until after dinner to go out and fish today due to the heat this afternoon. Went out to my two minute honey hole and the water was ugly. Moved a little bit and found a color change and first drift picked up these three trout for tomorrow's dinner.
Each fish was caught on a different lure. Continued playing throwing different types of lures and I wound up catching fish on six different lures. Not only colors but types of lures as well. These are the lutes that I caught fish on today. also tried topwaters but the grass was too bad and I couldn't keep from getting bogged down with a bunch of grass.

Nice of them to accept your invite to dinner. I invited some reds to dinner - tomorrow. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

Zia, I have been meaning to ask this for a while. Educate us on the swivels you use, i.e. brand and size.
Thanks! |

Nice job, Zia! I hope to find some either in the surf or the back side of some remote island this weekend. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Norton quick swivels. They come in two sizes and I've got some of each |

| Many people may not know, but back in the 80's-early 90's those swivel/snaps were hand twisted here in Flour Bluff by Lawrence Ashmore. Eventually he went on to sell them to Roy's for a bit, and then the big names found em and started producing them commercially. He used to make these, and he made his own weedless spoons (used the sprites for the main body) with teaser tails. He's who got my Dad into sight fishing, and how my Dad taught me. |

| Roy's still sells those types of swivels. They have a double instead of a single twist |

| Interesting, I used to use Norton's swivels, but once I threw a favorite lure off of one, and lost it, I stopped using them. I now use a split ring and connect swivels directly to any lure I think needs a swivel. To each his own, and I'm glad they work for someone. |

Would you post a picture of the connection that you use ? _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |
