Fishing south sucked.
Friday was an outstanding weather day, turning windy on Saturday laying down at dusk.
Lots of dinks under lights, No Reds, no Drum. Talked with one guide and another party that was at cabin in Land Cut, same story.
Don't know whats up, This has always been a great time to have success.
Oh well, makes you appreciate the banner trips. |

Sorry to hear that but thank you for the report. Lots of weather swings in a short period of time couldn't have helped. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

The North and wasn't much better. Two of my buddies went out on separate boat and one came back with one barely keeper trout that he released and the other one got skunked. |

I just assumed I suck at fishing anymore. LOL
Went out late 10/27 and early 10/28. Fished the KRS, the east spoils, drifted flats, grass lines and drop-offs. Caught a few dinks, two jumbo pinfish and one 20" red that was released. The Manns -1 was the pinfish killer bait. A jighead under a mauler produced about four dinks. The red hit a Assassin 4" paddletail Chicken on the chain. Topwaters were virtually ignored. Wind was calm that weekend with clear sky and high pressure.
Water was super clear down to about where the ULM gets narrow and then took on some color. Lots of bait was still in the bay.
The park people were doing their survey when we came into Bluffs Landing. I gave the day a 9 out of 10 just for being able to get out and try.
There were some nice boxes of reds and drum coming to the cleaning table. My guess..live bait, packery or nearby but just a guess. |
