Beaches now open to vehicles during the day. Tides still high overnight. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

I went to the North Sticks at lunch, just to check it out.
Very high water, dunes eroded to a 2+ foot vertical face. Lots of exposed railroad vines.
Take heed, and stay off at High Tide!! |

| The weekend weather outlook appears great, but I'm concerned the high tides might not allow for camping overnight. I see the ides are supposed to rise higher through the weekend. Anyone have any info that would make the trip from ATX seem worthwhile? |

X2 except I was planning on coming in from DFW. Weather report does look good but might not be worth the risk with the high tides. |

Each high tide through the weekend is predicted to be higher than the one before.
Each low tide for the same period is predicted to be lower than the one before it.
This does not take into account the west wind that is predicted or the change in atmospheric pressure.
I expect some very powerful falling tides over the next several days.
I have to work Saturday, but I would be fishing if I could.
It might be the nicest beach weekend so far this fall. _________________ Take it outside! |

What I can add from this previous weekend...
There were lots of spots that were cut out from the dunes with enough room to park a vehicle and make camp. These spots would keep you high and dry for the most part. Some looked low lying so just keep an eye out. You can find spots all up and down the beach. Just be smart about where you park and make camp, but if I could I would go this weekend. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

| I second that. There are quite a few holes in the dunes to set up camp. The fronts of the dunes are chopped off and are little cliffs. I went out Thursday and came back Sunday and water was to the dunes every night. I can tell you there is a very nice spot 11.8 miles down big hole that is up a little higher then the others. |

| I'm hoping the west winds will tame the tide a bit for the weekend, |

That would do it and northwest will make for easy casting! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| How are you all able to tell if the tide is going to come up to the dunes? This is one part of knowledge that I quite havent figured out how to gauge yet. |
