Had a good trip today! Caught a pile of reds and kept a limit that measured 22, 27, and 27 7/8. Got several oversized and a bunch of under. Also got a few stud whiting.

I went to about the 28 and caught most of my fish there. Also got some at about the 18.

Driving was good. Water was okay but not great. Weed was terrible but lightened up at times. Lots of sharkers heading south to set up for the big weekend.

Thanks dawg for the report. I'm still waiting on things to get a little bit better to get out there on the sand. Itching to get some of those Reds. Especially when the bulls start running

I caught a couple around 31' but no really good bulls. The surprising thing to me was how many small ones i caught. Quite a few in the 10 to 12 inch range and several 15 to 20's. I also threw back 4 or 5 slots too. I left them biting to go try and find some pomps or drum but struck out! It was a good day!

One last thing probably 90% were in the first gut. I didn't even have to get wet!

Thanks! I thought about you several times while i was on the sand. I started paying attention to the birds since yours posts. I dont know anything about them though. I just never realized how many there were and how many types are down there. Who knows maybe soon i'll be walking around with some nerdy binoculars and a little notbook! Laughing

Also had some flowers catch my attention and thought you might have taken a picture and had some wise words about them. Funny thing was these wern't the ones on top of the dunes that i saw earlier. These were by the dumpsters as you leave the beach. I was dumping my bag of beach trash and it just kind of dawned on me that even by the trash and start of civilization the beauty of the island still shines thru!

I think i'm starting to slow down a little and open my eyes! Life is good!

That is GREAT Doug! Catching fish AND enjoying nature-does not get much better!

Wonder if you were seeing those Runyons sunflowers by the dumpsters there.

Fall is such a great time for the birding!

Nothing nerdy about that! There is a ton of stuff to see, if you just know where to look!

Just joking about the nerdy part! There is a lot out there and i've always looked but rarely able to really stop and see it. I recently retired and find i'm seeing life in a whole new way!

To revisit an old subject. I found 1 hamburger bean and quite a few of the heart ones walking the sand on this trip! Very Happy

Life is good!!!
