Was doing some early morning yard work and Mary decided to go to yoga so I decided to jump in the boat and go out fish for a little while before the heat index got up to the estimated 114 today. Went to the 2-minute honeyhole nothing. Went to three minute honey hole caught about 10 to 12 undersized trout.Went to another spot That I've been finding fish at lately, all of 5 minutes from my house, and the water was crystal clear. I think it was cleaner than the tap water in Corpus Christi. Switch from my Tequila Gold or my Pink that I was using to a clear Cocahoe minnow with black spots. Hooked it up weedless and weightless because I found that the fish were not very active going after bait. I guess with the heat and low oxygen levels they didn't want exert energy. Caught another half a dozen or so small trout and then a 19-inch red. Couple cast later hooked into a big nice 31 in red fish. Had a great time fighting it and then released it. No more than 5 minutes later I get another slam on that same white one and this time I bring in a 28 and a 1/2 inch trout. And then all the sudden everything shut down. Hardly had a bite after that. Came back in to continue yard work. Like the title says no keepers, misnomer, but a fun day
Here are the lures that I was using today

| It's interesting that you use the line clip and swivel, I always rigged plastics with a length of flurocarbon and a straight knot to braid. |

Same here, Always,
I found that swivels, etc find more grass, and that older [ smart ] fish can see that it is not natural looking.
That being said it works for Zia no doubt, he catches fish consistently, |

Nice job, Zia! I understand those clips catch grass etc but they sure do save my teeth from cutting line to change lures. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

aim that camera before you let 'em go.
I just replaced my 15-y-o Olympus 850SW waterproof (no more) with a TG-5 - my birthday present to me. The new camera has a "pro capture" mode where it cranks off frames while it's working out autofocus. Aim for a couple of seconds, and you'll have a good photo in there - it's only electrons.

| I just rather use that quick-release change then retying all the time. I hear what you're saying with the worn-down teeth Tyler. If things are really bad and slow I might switch to just tied direct to the Lure but very seldom. And I seem to catch my share. I don't find that it catches any more grass than the hook protruding through the lure itself. |

My poor eyesight, or is the clip on the middle lure open? Looks different... _________________
