Haven't posted in a while, but the last two days have been kind of slow. Went down to Baffin and 9 mile hole yesterday, and we only had two keeper trout. Fished till 1pm. Lots of small reds and trout. One well known guide that I know only had two fish for his clients; fishing all day down there. Lots of boats everywhere....
Today was a little better. Fished the flats with top waters early north of the JFK bridge, and caught a lot of small trout and reds. Ended up with two keeper trout and two reds. |

|
|
Well it is that time of year for me.
The bite has stopped and the Croaker are to big. Only dinks under the cabin light last weekend. Good time to go through the boat and do maintenance and get ready for fall runs.
This is the time of the year to fish at daybreak or sunset for any quality fish. Hot water, low oxygen levels, and not much bait activity.
Time for me to leave the boat on the trailer and clean shotguns and prepare for dove season. |

| even guides must pay their dues - though often on days like that, also eat lip from their fares. |
