| Any of you all use a trailer like a teardrop for camping on PINS? I am looking into a few and want to see if anyone has any recommendations. I would defintely need A/C to keep the wife happy. After researching there a quite a few of road models that look like they could be hauled on the beach no problem. |

| We just bought a GeoPro G19FD with the offroad package. No slideout and has smooth fiberglass sides, should be real easy to clean up after going to the beach. It has a very nice interior with metal sink and better parts and pieces then a lot of other trailers in its size. It also has steps that fold out and touch the ground, very nice and heavy duty. We drove all the way to Arkansas to get it. Nobody around here sells them. |

I see those out there - usually in the first 5 or so - my suggestion, and its what I am doing - is stop every do often, if the people look friendly, and ask they what they think. I am referring to suggestions about the trailer, the wife part, I dont have a clue. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

| We use an off-road style pop up and it works great. To run an A/C you will need a decent size generator. With all the windows open in a pop up we stay pretty comfortable with the ocean breeze alone. |

That is a nice trailer however i would go with that you can stand up in. You can set up a base camp anywhere up until the 16MM and do short trips without the trailer into the high banks. I would go with a clean used 16 ft for around $5,000. or an overhead camper one on Craigslist 1999 Fleetwood Angler _________________ Fin in the wind |

You can camp the whole 60 miles. The beach changes around the 17-25MM and can become soft with deep ruts. They call it the Devil elbow _________________ Fin in the wind |

| You can camp anywhere from the fence to the jetty. Check with the the park for beach conditions. |

Nice trailer. you could drag that thru the high banks on the high rd. Get past the 25 and it's clear sailing. _________________ "Charlie Don't Surf" |

Heads up - for right now - July 8th, there is a very nasty place around 45-46 , its about 20-30 yards - the turtle ranger called it a sand cliff - you have two choices, go high - big time mush sand - i made it with the subie, just cruised - i slid a little over to toward the 4 foot drop - but made it to the other side just fine. Going low at high tide, you have the possibility of getting hit by a wave. I waited until high tide going out both days and ran it low - between waves.
Two large 4x4 trucks got stuck - talked to both, one - the guy in front of him stopped to punch in 4wd and that got him. The second guy, had been going in 2wd and stopped - well got stopped - and then went to 4wd but was stuck. He dug himself out.
Truly, just be aware its bad - because 99% of the way, grandma's old 57 chevy would get through - this place just catches people by surprise. And it could be different tomorrow as we all know. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

Thats why when, right before I hit the sand it goes in 4wd, and if I think its going to get soft I just put in 4wd low. Speed limit is only 15, though I notice about 1/2+++ people wont do that. I saw some doing 45-50 down through there. But I forget its not about me its all about THEM. Heck I saw 2 of them racing Friday evening, loud pipes and all. Thought I was at the races somewhere. _________________ Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might. (Fishing is one of those things ) |
