mucho rain up here again today. most of Medina county is Nueces watershed. big rain in Frio Co. (Pearsall) Atacosa Co. getting hammered as well (Atacosa R. flows down to Three Rivers) the folk in Vic need to keep their heads up. 8 in. in New Braunfels (Guadalupe drainage). oh and Bandera Co is part Nueces, part Guadalupe runoff. big storms there too. just saw a radar pic on the local news. Zavala and Dimmitt Co.'s are lit up red now. more Nueces drainage there also. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

lotsa bites, no hook-ups.
no BS up here, the rivers are gonna be up.
before so-called civilization the bay was flushed very often.
Jay and TH said this is good in the long run
how about we compare the estuary to next year and see how it looks then? Grandma was always in favor of a good cleansing. you older guys know what I mean _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

this influx in freshwater will be great for the production of juvenile fish, shrimp and crabs. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

got a good one going on now. the Hondo is 8' up and rising. evacuating people from D'Hanis, Seco creek is up to the HWY 90 bridge and 90 is closed. the Sabinal River is up 10-12 ft at Sabinal. the Frio abd Nueces will be coming up also from the Radar pics I've seen. I have heard un-confirmed reports of 15 inches of rain in the hill country in northen Medina and Uvalde counties. all that water drains into CC bay. the weather channel just reported evacuations at Garner State Park. New Braunfels/Seguin area had 8 in. yesterday. that all goes into the Guadalupe down to Victoria. google Nueces river watershed and look at the wikipedia site and map. the high-lighted area is now under heavy flood stage. this is getting to be serious now. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

The Nueces River over in Dimmit and Zavala counties is up real big. Thats Carrizo Springs, Crystal City and Uvalde. That water is coming from farther west than before. All is heading this way. People in Bluntzer and Calallen better start moving now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May start seeing the rise this afternoon or tomorrow.

thanks for the warning, kweber.......
yep, pretty solid flooding going on....weird weather patterns, got a little weak front here in corpus this morning that dumped somewhere around 3 MORE inches......changed the wind direction to like SW or NW, hard to tell.....
we had this several years ago, can't remember if this summer pattern turned into the beautiful mild winter or the one where it snowed christmas eve.....
either way can't keep up with mowing the damn lawn!! |
