After treating my wife and I yesterday to a full day of pampering at the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs & Spa for our anniversary she recommended that we go down to the river today so that I can fish. She's amazing. This picture shows an area where we fish. It's an old picture but you get an idea where we were. It's an area called the John Dunn Bridge.

The water was down even more than it was a week or so ago. Probably under 200 CFS. Was able to Wade through the water and look for small Pockets around rocks and through riffles. I was throwing a brown mepps spinner bait and got a total of eight brown trout and two rainbows. The rainbow in the picture went about 19 it was nice and fat. I released all fish to give me pleasure another day

A funny thing that happened while down on the river was that there was a gentleman flyfishing and he was being filmed by four different people for a an advertisement for Taos tourism. They were doing a segment on fishing area and he was not able to catch a fish. So they used his flyfishing on the video and then took a picture of a couple my fish that I caught to include in the article.

It is so dry here right now that they're closing down all the forests around the entire state. Fire danger is extremely high.

Here's a picture of one of the soaking tubs of which there are seven. They are all fed by natural Mineral Springs with the various elements such as Lithia, soda, iron etcetera. They range anywhere from 100 to 104 degrees and as I said they're all natural. Lucky to have this place only 5 miles from the house

we're heading back to the Corpus on Saturday. Will be shutting down the house here Thursday and Friday or else I'd meet you someplace and show you around
There's two good areas of the Rio Grande the fish both north and south of Taos. North you got have the John Dunn bridge and South got the Orilla Verde recreation area at the. Taos Junction bridge.
