Heading down Thursday, setting up camp at bali park till sat morning. Then set rv up down pins.
Other than usual holiday weekend travel, any idea what pins is going to be like.

How hard driving been, fish reports anything.
Thanks in advance

Driving was rough last evening - but could be totally cool by tomorrow, you know how that goes. Based on the completely nuts out of control crowds I saw yesterday - if I were you, I would get down pins sooner than Saturday morning. Yesterday, heading back after billy's memorial, i turned in at the first access road by the horse stables, wanted to find a quiet spot and catch some z's. WRONG. A complete nut house - complete, so many cars and pack so close together, you could stick a knife blade between.

Back at pins, Water was pretty clear, but the surf was high and kick this little boy's butt. Whats crazy in the pins first 5 miles, there are - I swear its the same several families spread out 4 or 5 different camp sites - and they have kids who they must think are invincible. Dad was in the water fishing, 4-5 little kids, the oldest 5-ish, the youngest , a toddler, were running all over where we usually drive, and I can tell you, 15 mph was too fast. Big fat mama was sitting on her haunches in the sand, looking at , what I think was her cell phone, I waited for the toddler to get back into their so-called camp area. I would almost be sure that I saw them last weekend, same situation .

I'm thinking , that there needs to be a 'unsupervised kid patrol' in addtion to the 'turtle patrol'. Those little kids are in much more danger than any turtles. Unbelievably crappy parenting, but maybe thats the idea. Something terrible is going to happen down there, could be in the water, but most likely , but by one of those he-man jacked up big trucks that still drive 40 mph in those first few miles where all these people plop down.

Watch that low in the Gulf that is expected to come in the Eastern Gulf as it could send water to the dunes.

Is there a website or number that will warn of water to the dunes so one can get out of there before it is to late.

Went to south of 20 this evening - passed the gate around 4pm i believe. I put out lines with live mullet (caught whiting on it), line with fish bite and shrimp ( caught doubles on almost every cast of medium size whiting - no bulls), and a shark line - with a live whiting - nothing touched it.

I was there for out going tide - so the first gut with water deep enough to fish in - had sharks moving - I saw a large (6 foot at least ) probably black tip and earlier some other kind of shark - which convinced me , I was deep enough and there was no need to wade out farther. The group fishing just north of me, on the 20, said they had seen what must have been a large school of 50 or more stingrays, just gliding by. They were sharkers - and had had no runs.

The grass was much less here around the 20 - than i saw when driving back. Around the 10, the fresh seaweed around there was thick on the sand.

Think I will pass on the next several days and hit it again , probably monday night or tuesday evening.
