Their truly will never be another one like him. I fished with him several times. Always an adventure and always educational. Flat seas and tight lines forever captain.

What a loss to all who knew Billy,
I first met him in the 80's with a couple of ol gals just showing them the beauty of Padre Island. He was a people person, no frills, what you see is what you get.

Not only was i always amazed about his knowledge of the history of the island but a damn good surf fisherman.

And what can you say about his shark tooth necklace ?

One Real Cool Dude.

R.I.P. Capt. Billy !!

Got to go on a trip with him just a few yeas before he stopped chartering. We had a great day of fishing, and landed many trout and reds. On that same day, my dad hooked a king in the wade gut with a mirrolure she dog. As capt billy grabbed it , it game a good whack, and knocked his dentures out. Will never forget that moment, capt billy wrestling a pissed off kingfish, while my uncle is just standing there with his knife and dentures in his hand. He showed us so much that day that changed the way we fish the surf forever, and he inspired many, a great man, Rest in peace Capt. Billy Sandifer

Although I had met Billy I did not know him. I wish I did though.

Smooth seas from now on Captain!

I'm lucky enough to of been on 3 surf fish charters with the Capt. Each outing was epic catching trout and reds on 2 trips & a site cast of a 5.6FT bull shark at sunrise in 1st gut. He told us great stories on each trip and my favorite was the Ghost that hangs at MM33.

RIP Mr. Sandifer! This was my first time to volunteer at the clean up and all I wanted to do was meet you and take a picture with you, and I did. God bless you!
