I commented to the Wife-Unit at our 1:00 PM trip to South Bob Hall for a dog run, "This is Spring Break Worthy!!!"... WOW, that was some major fog from the high dunes to the water. Park Road, sunny as can be!!!! But it was cool to see.
Only saw it worse once, when me and the youngest took the Christmas Tree to the beach one January, and we placed it at the base of the dunes, and you could 'hear' the surf, but not see it!!!
Spring Break Worthy Indeed!!!! |

Saw it like that once before headed down pins early in the morning. I was on the north end, just craaaaawling, under 5mph, because you couldn't see 15 yards. A lump emerged in the road right in front of me and I stopped to see what it was. It was a guy, in a sleeping bag, asleep, no tent, no car, in the middle of the high road, on the foggiest morning I have ever seen. Must be a helluva guy cuz he had to have some good karma to make it through that decision. _________________

Went as far as 20 mm on pins, seaweed out the gazoo - the water was getting clearer - but seaweed - was getting thicker. I only went (i am lying) to work on my casting - so it was a successful trip. lol.
Two things to make a trip down pins suck, 1) seaweed, 2) high howling wind.
Only seaweed today. But lots of it. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |
